I wanted to use SystemRescue on Intel Pentium 4

Hardware: Foxconn RC4107MA-S2

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHz

RAM: DDR2: 2x1GB RAM

I have SystemRescue v12.03 on an IODD drive connected to the computer via USB. The boot process is very slow, and many VGA-related error messages appear.

With version 12, it takes a long time before I can type startx into the console. Once the GUI loads, the system freezes for a very long time. It takes about 1–2 hours before the mouse becomes responsive and the start menu can be opened. Hardware info does load the information eventually, but starting Firefox causes the system to freeze again.

I need to use ddrescue on an SSD.

SystemRescue v4.9.6 loads faster and does not freeze.

Does anyone have more information regarding compatibility? Which versions of SystemRescue should I try instead?

Please run commands such as journalctl and dmesg in the console to check what the system logs say. Hopefully it will give you more information about what is wrong.
